Oklahoma State Laws Guide

Crawford & Associates has continously been a leader in the development and amendment of Oklahoma State laws affecting municipal accounting and finance. Since the mid 1970's, Mike Crawford has chaired or participated in a number of task forces involved with drafting or amending these State laws and has often testified before State legislative committees.

In an effort to provide a quick reference guide for identifying such laws applicable to Oklahoma municipalities, we have prepared a topical summary of the most significant laws, including their citation for research purposes. Since it's development, our State Laws Guide has become one of the most widely used and respected tools for municipal organization and officials. Here is what one municipal financial official had to say:

"I was recently referred to your Summary of State Laws Applicable to Municipal Accounting and Finance by the Oklahoma Municipal League. What a valuable resource! I absolutely could not do my job without it... Thank you for making this available to the public. Your work is benefiting small towns all across the state!"

- Mary Timmons, Finance Officer, Town of Talihina, OK
